Sutton House London Wedding Photography
It’s always a real pleasure to be asked to capture the day for a fantastic couple like Kezia and Jason. Their intimate marriage at Sutton House in Hackney was a wonderful venue for a photographer to shoot. The family and friends were very entertaining and welcoming to me; what more can I say… I managed to capture some great photos which they will now always treasure.
Starting out in Birmingham, I had a quick train journey (thanks Virgin!) down to London. It really does just feel like a hop, skip and jump to get to London, I’ve done it so many times now.
Technology is great sometimes hey? My phone, once again demonstrating itself invaluable in helping me find my way to the house in Hackney where the bride, Kezia was getting ready. Starting out, I got to work photographing Kezia’s preparation with her mother proving invaluable helping with young daughter and niece.
Sutton House: A Beautiful National Trust Property
After the preparation shots I made my way to the Sutton House to get the photos of the Groom, Jason welcoming the arriving guests. Always so much fun to get these photos as everyone is greeting each other and generally having a good time!
Guests made their way upstairs, sitting down quietly as Jason waited patiently for Kezia to arrive and walk up the aisle.
Overjoyed in seeing each other, this was a wedding of all smiles and full of love in the Tudor Manor House on a beautiful May afternoon. Rings exchanged and ‘I dos’ said the newly married couple headed downstairs to great their guests in the gorgeous courtyard and gardens.
Golden Light
Using the low golden sun to get my photos of the couple in the grounds of Sutton House I got a few nice shots of the family too as well as all the candid shots of the couple and their guests as possible.
Once drinks and Canapés were finished the time had come for the wedding party to head up the road. All guests opting for a ten minute walk to reception venue – Palm 2, a very cool cafe/restaurant space which is effortlessly cool.
A Bride and Groom and a Busy London Street
Seeing a bride and groom walking up a busy street in London always makes a great spectacle, nothing turns heads like a newly married couple. Kezia’s wedding dress collecting half of Londons pavement dust up along the way but she rode it out in style.
Upstairs at Palm 2 the guests settled for speeches with laughs, smiles and just a couple of tears – the guests providing more brilliant photo opportunities for me. Following the food and more drinks the party started, the band played and as the sun set it was time for me to make my way home and start editing the most perfect London wedding.
